Teach Computer Science in Your School!

February 20, 2018 We need more computer science teachers for every child to have equitable access, but schools often assume that means finding and hiring a new teacher. Code.org offers free professional development programs for existing teachers who want to begin teaching computer science.

You may have many excellent teachers looking for a new challenge, and attending Code.org's professional learning programs can prepare them to teach computer science starting in the fall. Over 72,000 teachers have participated in the programs, with 98% of attendees saying they would recommend the program to another teacher.

Applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Code.org Professional Learning Program for middle and high school teachers, which begins with a five-day, in-person summer workshop, and continues with four additional one-day follow-up workshops throughout the year. Dates and locations are assigned by region. No-cost, one-day professional development workshops for elementary teachers led by an experienced computer science facilitator are available regionally year-round.
