State Board of Education Seeking Applicants for Vacancies

September 13, 2017 The State Board of Education (SBE) is seeking applications for vacancies on the Advisory Commission on Charter Schools (ACCS), California Practitioners Advisory Group (CPAG), and Instructional Quality Commission (IQC).

ACCS works to support the SBE on issues related to individual charter schools and the California charter system as a whole. Applicants should be a parent or guardian of a charter school student and representatives of a district governing board. Applications must be received by 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

The CPAG committee provides input to the SBE on efforts to establish a single coherent local, state, and federal accountability system. Applicants should meet one or more of the following practitioner categories: education researchers, teachers from charter schools, and representatives of private school children. Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

The IQC has four vacancies for currently practicing teachers and/or leaders with experience and expertise in special education, elementary grades, mathematics, and/or ethnic studies to serve on the Instructional Quality Commission (IQC). Applications must be received by noon on Wednesday, October 11, 2017.
