New California School Dashboards from CDE now available for Schools to Preview!

February 18, 2017 In March the California Department of Education (CDE) will publicly release a new California School Dashboard. The Dashboard will color-code ratings on a number of indicators that the State Board of Education recently approved as part of its new accountability system (formerly known as LCFF Evaluation Rubrics). These dashboards are currently available for preview for schools, using a login provided by the CDE.

If your school has not yet previewed the dashboard, please follow the instructions in the attached letter to gain access. This letter was sent to whomever is listed as the administrator in CDE's public school directory. LEAs and charter schools should update the directory there are administrative changes, because this directory is used to send out important announcements.

Please note that the Dashboard Coordinators were given access to the data file preview this year. However, in the future only secure accountability coordinators will receive access to the data files. Only direct funded charters can apply for secure accountability status. Once these schools receive a Dashboard Coordinator login, they will be able to review the Accountability Coordinator list to determine if they have a current secure accountability coordinator.

More information about the California School Dashboard, including overview documents and a communications toolkit, was recently released on this webpage:
