February 3, 2016 The 2015-16 Fiscal Year federal Public Charter Schools Grant Program (PCSGP) Request for Applications (RFA) and forms are currently available for Round Two.

The PCSGP is a sub-grant program funded by the Charter Schools Program administered by the U.S. Department of Education. The California Department of Education (CDE) will award PCSGP Planning and Implementation grants this year, which can be used for planning, program design, and initial implementation of a charter school. Applicants are encouraged to review the RFA for eligibility and application requirements before submitting the application and required forms. The 2015-16 PCSGP RFA and forms are located on the CDE PCSGP Request for Applications Web page.

The completed application and required forms must be received by the Charter Schools Division on or before (not postmarked by) 12:00 p.m. (noon), February 25, 2016.

The CDE will be hosting a Webinar on Thursday, February 11, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The purpose of the Webinar is to provide applicants information about the eligibility requirements and application process.

The webinar will also cover budget information including allowable costs under the PCSGP grant. We strongly recommend that all applicants attend this webinar training for current PCSGP grant information and instructions. If you are unable to participate in the Webinar, the CDE will have an archived copy of the Webinar available on the CDE Web page. Information about participating in the Webinar, including the dial-in number and participant passcode are as follows:
