Civil Rights and Education Reform Programming Thread
Programming includes but is not limited to:
- The Elephant in the Room: Why Race Matters in Education Reform: This session will provide a safe environment where participants can openly and publicly dialogue about the complex issues regarding race.
- # Black Life Matters to Whom?: This panel will discuss best practices and proven methods that have helped lower the achievement gap.
- Childhood Trauma: A Debate Straight Outta Compton: Join us for a debate that comes "Straight Outta Compton." The question is, should district and charter schools bear the heavy responsibility of addressing the social and emotional needs of students?
- Where do Civil Rights Organizations Stand on California Charter Schools?: This panel will include representatives from civil rights groups to discuss their organizations' perspectives on charter schools.
