August 15, 2015 Semillas Community Schools, a nonprofit that operates Anahuacalmecac International University Prep charter school in L.A., invites 6th, 7th and 8th grade math teachers across California to participate in Semillas de MAIS (Mathematic Advancement for Indigenous Students). With funding from the California Department of Education, it will be the first ever professional development program based on mathematical strategies used by indigenous societies in Mexico.
