Learn About CCSA's Legal Services for Incorporation and Tax Exemption!

February 2, 2015 Did you know that CCSA offers an Incorporation Services Program, under which qualifying CCSA members can receive pro bono or reduced rate legal support with the incorporation and tax exemption process from outside attorneys?

If you are located in Los Angeles or San Diego County, you may receive free legal help from a public interest law group if you can demonstrate that your school's target student population includes at least 50% free and reduced price eligible students.

If you are outside of Los Angeles or San Diego, you may receive reduced rate legal services from the law firm of Young, Minney & Corr if your target student population includes at least 30% free and reduced price eligible students.

Generally, the incorporation and tax exemption services that the attorneys will provide include the following:

  • Drafting and filing Articles of Incorporation to form the school corporation
  • Drafting related corporate documents such as bylaws and initial board resolutions
  • Preparing and filing federal and state income tax exemption applications, once the charter has been approved

If you have not yet incorporated or received tax exempt status and plan to do so, we encourage you to take advantage of this program.

If you are interested in receiving pro bono or reduced rate legal help with the incorporation and tax exemption process, please send an email to Allison Magill at amagill@ccsa.org with the name of your school and a description of the student population you plan to serve.
