Learn about the California case, Mendez v. Westminster, which contributed to the strategy and foreshadowed the decision in Brown.
Equity is the Core to Common Core: The workshop will share concrete strategies to lead and deliver equitable practices in implementing Common Core standards for diverse students. Educational leaders and teachers will understand an Efficacy Framework, which deepens the learning for students of color.
School Tours: The thread also offers the opportunity to tour Sacramento City charter schools serving predominantly African-American students and learn from charter leaders how they have transformed the community they serve. 10:00 am-2:00 pm: School Tours, 2:00 pm-3:30 pm: Lunch and Group Discussion. Registration for the tour is $10 to cover transportation fees.
