Announcing Pro Bono Legal Review for Prop. 39 District Preliminary Offers of Space

  • Print

January 29, 2015 If you submitted a request for district facilities for the 2015-16 school year under Proposition 39 ("Prop. 39") in the fall of 2014, school districts were required to provide eligible Prop. 39 applicants with preliminary offers of facilities by February 1. Charter schools must respond to these offers no later than March 1, 2015, expressing any concerns with the offer and/or making counter-offers.

You can find templates to assist in drafting your response on CCSA's website.

If you have not received a preliminary offer and believe you are entitled to one, you should request a preliminary offer of facilities right away. You can find a template that can be tailored for your school to request a preliminary offer on CCSA's website.

In addition, CCSA will continue to offer the Prop. 39 Pro Bono Review Program so that participating schools can receive a free legal review of preliminary facilities offers from school districts, and obtain assistance drafting responses to those offers.

If your school is interested in receiving legal assistance with reviewing and responding to your preliminary offer, please send your preliminary offer and draft response to Prop39@ccsa.org by February 15. A member of our team will coordinate with outside counsel to assist you. If your school has already begun working with Pro Bono counsel earlier in this Prop. 39 process, please continue working directly with your Pro Bono counsel.

We look forward to assisting you at this critical juncture in the Prop. 39 process. Please contact Prop39@ccsa.org if you have any questions or would like more information.
