December 5, 2014 As part of Computer Science Education Week (December 8-14), your students may participate in the Hour of Code, a self-guided activity allowing them to try out the basics of computer science. Code.org has launched the Hour of Code to encourage interest in the computer science field and to show all students that anyone can learn the basics of coding. In 2013, nearly 15 million students participated in the Hour of Code.

Teachers can sign up to host an Hour of Code to participate. The Hour of Code's website offers a variety of resources, including tutorials available for all ages and information kits about how to host an Hour of Code event.
