April 25, 2014 The Tom Bradley Project is a curriculum guide for 12th grade Government classrooms, supported by Common Core standards, designed to accompany the educational documentary, "Tom Bradley's Impossible Dream." This documentary tells the story of the life and legacy of Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley, the first African American mayor elected in a major U.S. city with an overwhelmingly white population. Mayor Bradley served for 20 years and is credited with laying the groundwork for multi-ethnic coalitions unsurpassed until the election of President Barack Obama.

The curriculum guide covers two Common Core State Standards: Reading Standards for Literacy in History/Social Studies 6-12 and the Writing Standard for Literacy in History/Social Studies 6-12. Essay questions, supporting materials, and lesson plans are included in the curriculum guide.
