Prop. 39 Applicants: Expect a Final Offer of Facilities by April 1
March 26, 2014 On April 1, districts are required to make a preliminary offer of facilities to each eligible charter school. Charter schools must inform districts whether or not they intend to occupy the offered space by May 1 or 30 days after the final notification, whichever is later. If you do not receive a final offer from your district, CCSA recommends that you follow up with a letter requesting a final offer immediately.
As we have done in the past, CCSA will offer template letters for CCSA members to use in accepting, declining or requesting a final offer of facilities under Prop. 39. Guidance and template letters will be made available on our website soon. We will provide additional updates as these resources become available.
In addition to using these resources, CCSA also strongly suggests that you work with your legal counsel in responding to or requesting a final offer of facilities.
