External Opportunity: Principal Apportionment Webinar April 1

March 21, 2014 The California Department of Education (CDE) is hosting a webinar on the new Principal Apportionment Data Collection (PADC) Software, which will be released the week of March 24 for the 2013-14 Second Principal (P-2) Apportionment.

Local educational agencies (LEAs) will use this software to report data due to the CDE in April and May for the P-2 Apportionment. Due dates are available on the CDE's website.

When:
April 1, 2014, 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Who should participate:
LEA representatives involved in the collection and submission of apportionment data (e.g. average daily attendance (ADA)). Tax data entry screens and SELPA entry screens will not be covered in this training.

The PADC software replaces the Principal Apportionment Revenue and Attendance data collection software and contains changes to data reporting required by implementation of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Major changes include:

  • ADA collected by how students are funded under LCFF
  • ADA reporting by grade span for school districts and charter schools
  • Charter physical location reporting
  • CALPADS adjustments reporting for unduplicated pupils

School districts, charter schools, and county offices of education will be covered in the webinar. The presentation will be sequenced to follow the level of oversight responsibilities--first charter schools, then school districts, and lastly county offices of education--so participants may sign off after the information that pertains to their agency is over.

For those unable to participate in the live presentation, a recording of this webinar and any presentation materials will be available on the CDE website within a few days after the presentation.

NOTE: This webinar is not intended to be a training on the functionality of the software as the structure and general use remain unchanged from the previous Principal Apportionment Revenue and Attendance data collection software.
