Don't Miss Finance Academy: Part One!

February 14, 2014 Back by popular demand, the California Charter Schools Association is bringing back our one-day Finance Academy: Part One, offered in partnership with FCMAT. This in-person workshop, is perfect for new charter schools, school leaders and board members. Offered in the Bay Area, the Central Valley and Los Angeles, the Academy will assist charter schools that are engaged in the strategic planning process work toward long-term sustainability.

The Finance Academy: Part One will focus on:

  • Budget Development and Cash Flow Projections
  • Data Management and Reporting (including CALPADS)

Participants will receive expert guidance in regard to: financial statements, income statements, school cash flow forecasting, and the mechanisms of monitoring charter school finance. The workshop will provide an understanding of the working relationship between business managers/business service providers and charter school administrators. It will also address financial issues and fiscal oversight from a board perspective, differentiation of various financial responsibilities, potential abuses, and conflict of interest.
