January 24, 2014 In a survey by The HR Specialist, they asked readers whether an employee had ever sued them and, if so, what piece of advice would be they give to other HR professionals? The number one suggestion was: "Document! Document! Document!"

Why do we document our employee's performance and/or conduct? We document for many reasons, one of which is to provide an employee with notice that their performance or conduct needs improvement.
