San Jose School Tours, Deep Dive Conference Programming and Pre-Sessions!
January 23, 2014 With less than 35 days until the start of CCSA's 21st Annual Conference taking place March 3-6, 2014 in San Jose, CA, now is the time to register for the largest statewide gathering of charter school professionals in the country.
New in 2014 - We are offering Deep Dive Programming Tracks each day of the conference:
Leadership: What is charter school leadership and how can you play a leadership role? Leaders use their influence to guide and direct community members. Leaders know how to communicate and "tell their story" and leaders can organize a group of people to achieve a common goal. These three sessions will discuss leadership at all three levels and provide practical, simple advice on how to make you a more effective leader.
Common Core: With all of the components necessary to fully implement Common Core, schools may have difficulty ensuring that all of the pieces are in place. This Common Core track, designed to provide schools with the tools necessary to make sure they're on track for successful Common Core implementation, focuses on five areas: finance, technology, curriculum, professional development and data/assessment. Each session will provide schools with a comprehensive overview of different focal points to ensure successful Common Core implementation.
Technology: Charter school leaders, teachers and developers often struggle to understand where technology fits into their programs. Incorrect decisions regarding technology can be costly when purchased without analysis of overall requirements and compatibility, deployed without adequate PD for staff and when paid for in ways that do not leverage either the funding sources or the quality, inexpensive solutions available to schools. Attend the three sessions in this track for an in-depth discussion about how to make the most of technology in your school.
