Workshop: Funding Charter School Facilities: How to Access Resources and Prepare for the Future

  • Print

November 1, 2013 Co-sponsored by the Coalition for Adequate School Housing (C.A.S.H.) and the California Charter Schools Association (CCSA), this workshop will focus on charter school facility funding issues.

The workshop will include updates from key state agencies such as the California School Finance Authority and the Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) on charter school financing options and state oversight, including the latest discussions on whether or not Proposition 55 funding will be moved back into the Charter School Facilities Program.

The workshop will also include presentations on the availability of Proposition 39 (a new source of state funding for school energy efficiency projects from an initiative passed by the voters in November 2012) funding for charter schools, as well as the facility and funding implications of the newly enacted Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and its Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) component.

If you are a charter school, work with charter schools, or are considering initiating a charter school, this workshop will help you identify sources of funding to address your critical facility needs.

The workshop will be offered in Sacramento on November 19 and Santa Ana on November 21. More information and register online.
