Risk Management: Alarming Frequency of Pedestrian Accidents Among Students

November 6, 2013 In the past two years, CharterSAFE has seen a disturbing number of injuries to students as a result of vehicle vs. pedestrian accidents. These have occurred in school parking lots, crosswalks, curbs and bus stops. A significant number have been hit-and-run incidents. Fortunately, we have not had any deaths, but the State of California was recently reported to have the highest rate of pedestrian accidents in the U.S.
