External Opportunity: FREE Symposium on Common Core Standards and Technology: San Jose & Los Angeles

October 29, 2013 Join other district and county office of education leadership teams that participated in the August 2012 or June 2013 Common Core State Standards (CCSS) symposium for a one-day event focused on effective integration of technology into instruction to support implementation of the CCSS.

The FREE events will be held in San Jose (November 12) and Los Angeles (November 14) from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm with check-in starting at 8:30 am.

Participants will leave the symposium:

  1. With a greater understanding of how technology can be employed in the service of CCSS instruction;

  2. Prepared to engage others in planning implementation and developing district policy for high-quality CCSS instruction with the strategic use of technology; and

  3. Having developed connections and a community of district and COE leaders engaged in leveraging technology to implement the standards.

Co-sponsored by REL West at WestEd, the California Collaborative on District Reform at AIR, and California Education Partners, the event will feature opportunities to learn from experts and each other, experience the power of technology that enhances and deepens instruction, and plan next steps.

General and breakout sessions will focus on the online learning landscape, planning quality programs, evaluating content, professional development and teacher support, technology infrastructure, and policy implications.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, November 6. There is NO onsite registration. Each event is limited to the first 100 registrants, so register your team soon!
