May 12, 2013 Yuba River Charter School and the City of Grass Valley were awarded $1 million is U.S. EPA Brownfield grants, according to YubaNet.com. YRCS is a K-8 Waldorf-methods charter school serving families in Nevada County. School leaders have been working for years to purchase land and build their own facility. YRCS Business Manager, Susan Eagan, told CCSA that "YRCS was one of two entities that received cleanup funds out of a region of 5 states, and ours was the largest. Schools hardly ever get these funds so we are beyond excited." Congratulations to YRCS!
