This FREE, intensive three-hour workshop is a must for board members and school leaders alike, giving you all the key information you need to be an effective steward of a charter public school. The Sacramento meeting will be offered in person on April 26 at the CCSA Sacramento Office, 1107 9th Street, Suite 200, Sacramento, CA 95814, from 9 am to 12 pm.

The Governance Academy helps schools develop legally-compliant governing board policies and procedures, and establish clear roles and responsibilities, including financial oversight and student performance. Schools will learn how to identify key areas of expertise for high-functioning boards and receive training on the Brown Act. The workshop will also include discussion of financial responsibilities and oversight as well as HR Issues, and board committee limitations and duties.
