March 22, 2013 I hope you had a great time in Sacramento! While San Diego is a long way from the great northeast, we had a great contingent of folks from Regions 2, 3, 6, and 7. Here are just a few examples of where your colleagues where seen and heard:

  • Jodi Graf (Visions in Education) networking with charter leaders from around the state at the Welcome Reception
  • Ben Claassen (Shasta Secondary Home School) meeting with CCSA CEO Jed Wallace at the non-classroom based charter school roundtable.
  • Jim Scheible (St. HOPE) and Jeff Rice (APlus+ Network) talking about accountability at the Member Council Meeting.
  • Debi Lenny and Andy Silvert (Golden Valley Charter School) enjoying the Speakeasy theme at the CCSA Advocates PAC Fundraiser
  • Dr. David Patterson (Placer County Board of Education) recalling strategies from November during breakout session on the 2012 elections.
  • James Bushman (University Prep) and Shelly Melton (Valley Preparatory Academy Charter) having lunch in the lovely Gaslamp Quarter.
  • Greg Rosenboom (Visions in Education) engaged in an advanced school finance workshop . . . that he probably could have presented!
  • Casey Taylor and Susan Powers (Achieve Charter School) enjoying popsicles at the Ice Cream Social in the Exhibit Hall
  • Ting Sun and Charlie Leo (Natomas Charter School) showing off their Legacy Awards at the CSMC reception.
  • Bill Redford (Delta Charter School) leading a discussion of spring legislative activities for Region 6 at the regional meetings.
