Critical February 6 Deadline is Approaching at the California Department of Education (CDE)

January 18, 2013 It is critical that charter schools certify their Free and Reduced Price Meal (FRPM) data in the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System (CALPADS) by February 6, 2013. This data is used to determine funding and grant eligibility for several state and federal programs, including the SB 740 Charter School Facility Grant Program.

Independently Reporting Charter schools (IRCs) that report data directly to CALPADS are responsible for submitting and certifying this data in CALPADS. Charter schools that submit data through their authorizing local educational agency (LEA) should make sure their LEA has the required data and has included the data in their submission to CALPADS. Data should be submitted for all schools, including those on National School Lunch Program Provision 2 or 3 statuses.

The primary CALPADS contact within each LEA or IRC is the LEA CALPADS Administrator. If you have questions about submitting, certifying, or correcting 2012-13 FRPM in CALPADS for your charter school, please contact your LEA CALPADS Administrator. You can find more information at the CALPADS Web page.
