December 7, 2012 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has designated December 2-8 as National Influenza Vaccination Week to highlight the importance of continuing flu vaccination throughout the flu season. Through the Shoo The Flu program, San Francisco Bay Area children ages 4 through 18 can receive a free flu shot.

The Bay Area Shoo The Flu initiative was born when Larry (co-founder of Google) and Lucy Page made a commitment to improving the health of the community. Shoo The Flu hopes to support the CDC in raising awareness that the peak of flu season is in January or February so it is not too late to vaccinate children in the Bay Area. The vaccinations will be administered at Bay Area Target Pharmacy locations until December 31, 2012 or while supplies last. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to receive the vaccination. For more information, visit Shoo The Flu.
