District Celebrates Double-Digit API Gains by 4 Independent Charters

December 7, 2012 In Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD), district leaders recognize that charter schools are an important part of improving student academic achievement for all students. SCUSD lauded four charters schools for their academic gains at their December 6th Board of Trustees meeting. Yav Pem Suab Academy (+53), Sol Aureus College Prep (+30), Language Academy of Sacramento (23+), and Aspire Capitol Heights Academy were each recognized (35+).

Chief Accountability Officer, Teresa Cummings, recognized the charter schools as part of a broader presentation about the performance of elementary schools 2011-12. In a personal message to charter leaders, Jennifer Lopez, SCUSD charter liaison, wrote, "Thank you for your leadership, commitment, hard work and dedication to the students and families that we serve."
