Dec. 10: LAUSD Charter Schools Open House: Options for Special Education Programs and Services

  • Print

November 16, 2012 In January 2011, the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) board voted to restructure the Special Education Local Planning Area (SELPA) to provide new special education options for charter schools.

Effective July 2013, all LAUSD-authorized charter schools will be required to select one of three new special education arrangements. Charter school administrators and staff are invited to attend an Open House to learn more about these options, including detailed descriptions of the funding and service delivery arrangements under Option 1, Option 2, and Option 3. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions and receive information about applying for membership in the "Charter Operated Programs" (Option 3).
