November 2, 2012 Sixteen charter schools from around Butte County were represented at the 2-day Chico Children's Fair at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds in Chico on October 13 and 14. The schools came together to celebrate the 20th year of California Law and to represent the 16 schools in the area.

School leaders from Hearthstone Charter School, Children's Community Charter School, Paradise Charter Middle School, Achieve Charter School, Sherwood Montessori Charter School, Paradise eLearning Academy, and Four Winds Charter School operated an information booth during the fair. Students from Achieve Charter School's rock band performed two songs on Saturday, and vocalists from Hearthstone performed on Saturday and Sunday.

"Participating in this year's fair was a great way to showcase the charter school movement in Butte County and in California. Our schools serve thousands of students in the county and offer choice and options within the public school system," stated Achieve Charter School Principal, Casey Taylor. "Not only is it important to come together to showcase the charter movement, but collective action also supports and strengthens our individual school programs."
