In order to vote in the November 6th election, you must register by October 22. You can register online by visiting http://registertovote.ca.gov/.
Voters who have already registered can check the status of their registration. Find your county and then follow the link for your county registrar of voters.
If you don't know the location of your polling place or where to bring your vote by mail ballot on election day, you can find out here or call the California Secretary of State's voter hotline at (800) 345-VOTE.
Nonpartisan voter information can be found at www.smartvoter.org where you can find information specific to the candidates and issues on the ballot in your county. Smart Voter is sponsored by the League of Women Voters.
Another great option from the League of Women Voters is the Easy Voter Guide, which is geared toward new voters and voters who may be too busy to read complicated ballot statements. This guide is offered in a variety of languages and makes it easy to understand to statewide ballot propositions. Just visit www.easyvoterguide.org to find the information you need.
And don't forget, you can find a number of locally focused non-partisan voter guides at Families That Can.
