September 14, 2012 Please mark your calendars for the Fall Regional Charter Leaders Meeting. These meetings are free, open to all charter leaders, and held 3 times a year.

In Redding, Member Council Representative, Casey Taylor, will offer a special session on engaging parents and families in school budget issues. Casey Taylor will lead a discussion that will ask, How can we inform parents - and encourage them to improve fundraising - without scaring them!? Of course we will also hear what's new at charter schools in the region, ask for input on our 2013 Legislative agenda, and provide critical updates on statewide education policy and politics that impact charter schools.

In Sacramento, we will take a moment to bid farewell to Dr. David Patterson, who is moving onto the national charter scene, and welcome a new Member Council Representative. Then we will dive right into a full agenda that will feature:

  • Cash Flow Solutions - A presentation from EdTec on cashflow issues and solutions for charter schools
  • Facilites - We'll talk facilities with CCSA's Senior Advisor on School Facilities, Dan Kreinbring
  • District/County Breakout - The last hour of the meeting to a local breakout session for charter schools located within key districts and counties to discuss emerging issues, authorizer over reach, and opportunities for collective action.

Don't miss it!
