CCSA submits letter to Superintendent Torlakson regarding PCSGP concerns

July 19, 2012 We have heard from many members about problems with the administration of the Public Charter School Grant Program (PCSGP) and have been working with Superintendent Torlakson and his staff at the California Department of Education (CDE) non-stop on these important issues. This funding is critical to startup charter schools and it is even more important right now, given that new and growing charter schools have been disproportionately affected by the cuts that have been imposed on all public schools during California's state budget crisis. In response to the critical need for immediate improvements to this program, we submitted a letter to Superintendent Torlakson earlier this week outlining our concerns.
