MY&M and Trustee Cooley host an Information Night on Sac County Board of Education Race

May 4, 2012 Sacramento County Board of Education Trustee, Brian Cooley, is partnering with Law Offices of Middleton Young & Minney, LLP for an information night about what's at stake for Sacramento charter schools in the upcoming June 5th election.

The County Board of Education has the authority to vote on appeals for non-renewals, revocations, and new charter petitions. The board can also make decisions about provide access to low cost loans to charter schools coping with state deferrals. Finally, county board has the authority to approve countywide benefit charter schools, as they recently did with the Fortune School.

Come learn about the political dynamics for each of the three contested seats, and join a discussion about the implications for charter public schools operating in Sacramento. Parent leaders and charter board members are also welcome - please feel free to invite them to attend!
