Fresno Area Charter Leaders Meeting Filled with Exciting Discussions

May 18, 2012 Thank you to all who attended the Fresno Area Charter Leaders Meeting.

There were some exciting topics discussed. Among the most exciting was planning for the 20th anniversary of charters celebrations in California. Schools are encouraged to plan events of their own but hopefully each region will plan activities involving multiple charter schools with multiple activities. The Fresno area group discussed potentially creating a charter school fair along with other communication tactics around highlighting school choices for families & students. There will be concerted efforts to connect with local partners in creating a sort of public relations campaign to boost visibility of charter schools. We are at the early stages in our discussions and it is exciting to see the conversation individual charter leaders are already having with community partners that will ultimately contribute to a hopefully larger effort. I thank those folks taking the initiative to take on this very important work. It was mentioned in the meeting that this a public service to educate our communities of the quality school choices available to them.
