Question: How is Title I Funded?

Answer: Title I is a Federal program funded under four different House of Representative bills. Each bill has a different eligibility threshold, ranging from 5% to 15% "poor" students. A "poor" student is a FRL qualified student multiplied by the state's conversion factor which is currently around .34. So, one FRL qualified student is equal to .34 of a "poor" student. Schools receive Title I funds based on their qualification percentages per each of the four Federal bills.
