Building a Special Collection of Charter School Documents

  • Print

April 30, 2012 The California State Library (CSL), through the California Research Bureau (CRB), is currently compiling a special collection of charters and charter school petitions. The goal of this special collection is to support the spread of best practices in charter school formation and management by making charter school documents easy to find and compare. These documents will be housed in a publicly accessible, searchable, on-line database at www.library.ca.gov/collections/.

The CSL and CRB ask that you send electronic copies of your charter and/or charter petition to CSL to help us build this special collection.

The mission of the California State Library is to serve as the information hub of California, preserving California's cultural heritage and connecting people, libraries and government to the resources and tools they need to succeed and to build a strong California. Its goal is to make important documents available to the state's residents, government employees, and elected officials. The CRB, a subsidiary of CSL, is a non-partisan research organization, serving the governor, legislature and state constitutional officers.

Preferred formats for documents include either Word or PDF formatted documents.

Documents should be e-mailed to Rebecca Blanton, Senior Policy Analyst, at: rblanton@library.ca.gov. Hard copies may be mailed to: California Research Bureau, ATTN: Rebecca Blanton, P.O. Box 942837, Sacramento, CA 94237-0001.
