Welcome to Sam Gelinas!
March 23, 2012 Sam Gelinas recently joined CCSA as the Special Projects Manager for the School Development and Support team. Sam has recently researched many of the key policy issues affecting charter schools, including the Parent Trigger and conversion charters. Last summer he was an Education Pioneers Fellow with the Los Angeles County Office of Education, working on recruitment strategies for under enrolled agencies that provide Head Start services across Los Angeles County.
Sam first found his way into education through the Washington DC Teaching Fellows program, a highly-selective program that trains accomplished professionals and recent college graduates to become high-impact teachers in schools serving high-need students throughout the D.C. area, where he spent three years as a special education teacher. Sam holds a Master of Arts in Education and Human Development from The George Washington University and will be receiving a Master of Public Policy from USC in May 2012. Sam will be based out of Los Angeles office, focusing on managing many of the School Development and Support programs, including leading the High Quality Charter grant program, as well as managing, analyzing and reporting on the data that we collect. We're excited to have him as part of the CCSA team!
