March 27, 2012 Kristen McCaw recently joined CCSA as the School Development Manager for Northern California. Kristen will be supporting individuals and groups that are interested in developing new charter schools in Northern California, with a focus on the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Valley.

Kristen comes to CCSA with both nonprofit management and charter-focused education reform experience. As an Education Pioneers Fellow at Lighthouse Community Charter Schools in Oakland, she managed the implementation of new data management systems designed to improve teacher and student performance. Before that, Kristen oversaw special education, intervention programs, and assessments at a first-year charter school in the Harlem Success Academy network. She has also established college preparation programs for high school students living in public housing, directed communications efforts for a nonprofit organization, and taught mathematics and literacy. Most recently, Kristen evaluated LAUSD's Public School Choice Initiative with the Center on Educational Governance, provided strategic consultation to educational organizations in Southern California, and served as a Board Fellow with Teach For America Los Angeles. Kristen holds a Bachelor of Arts from NYU and will be receiving a Master of Public Administration from USC in May 2012. We're excited to have Kristen as part of the CCSA team!
