  • Print

March 16, 2012 This is a great opportunity for Sacramento Area charter leaders! The California Department of Education (CDE) Charter Schools Division (CSD) will host a Public Charter Schools Grant Program (PCSGP) application Peer Review on March 21-23, 2012, at the CDE. This is an invitation to participate in the grant application review process as a peer reviewer.

The PCSGP is authorized by 20 U.S. Code sections 7221-7221j. The intent of the grant is to provide supplemental funds for charter school developers to use during a planning period and the first-two years a new charter school is open. The funds are to be used for capacity building activities designed to help the school become a high-quality, sustainable charter school.

The CDE values your expertise and commitment to provide a quality education to all students and welcomes your help with reviewing grant applications. Although reviewers come with a particular area of expertise, we are depending on each reviewer's ability to evaluate PCSGP objectives and activities.

Please contact Erin Dimmitt for additional information and confirmation of your participation, her phone number is (916)322-1755 and e-mail is edimmitt@cde.ca.gov by Monday, March 19, 2012. We understand that this is extremely short notice, and apologize for that.
