Supporting Each Other as our Local Charter School Movement Evolves

March 16, 2012 I want to congratulate Fresno Big Picture Charter on successfully being re-authorized for another 5 years from the Fresno County Office of Education.

At our last regional meetings in the Central Valley & the regional meeting at the conference, you could clearly get a sense of community in the room with the sharing of information and the camaraderie among our charter colleagues. It is exciting to see how far our get-togethers have come and it is the support that we share for each other that can influence how our local charter school movement will continue to evolve. I encourage you to communicate your support publically to your charter school colleagues during initial authorizations, renewals and other school events. Together we are providing a tremendous service and increasing school choices to the families and students in our communities.
