SDUSD School Board: June Primary Approaches

  • Print

March 30, 2012 We encourage everyone to get involved in their local school board races and learn all they can about each candidate. We also want to encourage our parents to get out and vote.

In SDUSD there are three seats open but only two seats have competition. Richard Barrera is running unopposed yet again. There are two candidates for Shelia Jackson's seat, Shelia will not be seeking reelection. William Ponder, retired university administrator and Marne Foster, community college instructor will be vying for her seat. John Lee Evans will also have competition for his seat as Mark Powell, who owns a real-estate company and Jared Hamilton, Internet Application Manager will be running.

Anyone interested in information on these candidates should be following Voice of San Diego as Will Careless has already interviewed three of the candidates and will eventually get to them all. As soon as all candidates have websites up, we will get you this information as well.
