Planning to Start a New Charter School? Get a Scholarship to the Fortune School Leadership Program

March 9, 2012 At our last Region 3 Charter Leaders Meeting, host Margaret Fortune announced a $2,500 matching scholarship for charter school leaders and charter developers applying for the Rex and Margaret Fortune School of Education School Leadership Program.

This program is for charter leaders, by charter leaders, and focuses on producing charter school leaders for high-quality charter schools in high need areas. The purpose of the program is to develop new schools and to deepen the bench of leaders within existing charter school organizations.

To be eligible, applicants must personally contribute $2,500 towards tuition and secure an institutional commitment from your school or organization for $2,500 to match Fortune School of Education's contribution. Tuition is $7500 and the deadline to apply is April 6, 2012. Eligible candidates will possess a valid teaching or services credential; minimum of three years of successful, full-time service in the public schools or private schools of equivalent service; and/or the California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST). Classes start this Summer 2012.
