Use the Conference to Find Answers and Connect with People
February 17, 2012 The California Charter Schools Association's Annual Conference is here ... amazing how fast a year goes by.
As you may be aware, we have the conference in Sacramento every other year to leverage the large number of charter school advocates to make an impact on the State's legislators. Developing a relationship with your area legislator is important on multiple levels. It is an opportunity to highlight and showcase your school. Plus, you are their constituent, so when an important charter issue arises, having an existing relationship with them will make a greater impact when those all important charter votes come in front of them. And of course, please be sure to make the rally!
Not only is the conference rich in resources, it's filled with people with all the answers or at least folks who know how to get the answers. So come prepared with your questions and a list of folks you want to connect with. All the Association staff will be there, as well as countless workshop presenters, so do your best to map out your schedule ahead of time to make the best use of your time.
Be sure to attend the regional charter leaders meeting at the conference to connect with your fellow Central Valley colleagues on February 28th at 6:00 pm in Room 309 in the Sacramento Convention Center. And lastly, you know how the Association likes to have fun so have a blast.
