San Jose Area Regional Meeting is Only a Few Days Away (Feb. 9, 10 a.m. at Latino College Prep)!
February 5, 2012 There is a lot going on in our area, not to mention across the state, so it is an important time for us to be getting together.
A huge thank you to the charter leaders who are contributing to our agenda! Wanny Hersey, Superintendent/Principal at Bullis Charter School, will talk with us about their facilities struggle to ensure fair treatment as required by Prop 39. We'll identify ways that the recent court decision impacts everyone's facilities work. See the recent Patch article.
Special education compliance and effective service-delivery continues to be a challenge for many schools. Paige Cisewski, Principal of Charter School of Morgan Hill and member of the Bay Area Special Ed JPA design team, will review the purpose of the JPA and we'll have a chance to review and discuss special education school level data for our area.
In addition to Paige and Wanny's leadership, Alice Miller, CCSA's director, Knowledge Management, will be covering the current funding rates, information on state and federal categorical programs and legislative/regulatory updates. For those of you who know Alice, I'm sure you'll agree that there is little that she doesn't know so come with questions and we'll make sure to leave some time for you to ask away.
Please take a minute to RSVP and remember that you have to sign in first (if you aren't already)!
