February 23, 2012 On February 23, CCSA released the second annual Portrait of the Movement report. The report offers an assessment of charter school performance across the state and provides a framework to press for higher accountability for low-performing charters.

The report is just one of the many new resources now available on the Portrait of the Movement section of the CCSA Web site. Visit that section to find individual school results; disaggregated reports comparing charter and traditional public school results by region, county and district; an interactive map that shows all charter and traditional public schools and their results on the Similar Students Measure (SSM); and a scatterplot graph of all California charter schools which are four years and older and their results on the Status/Growth/SSM Framework.

Do you have questions about the report, its methodology, or its findings? Don't miss the California Charter Schools Conference breakout session on "Portrait of the Movement: Assessing and Accelerating the Impact of Charters," Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 2:00-3:15 p.m. in Sacramento Convention Center Room 304.
