February 16, 2012 The ZOOM! team would like to remind you of the free Professional Development opportunities available to you and those at all participating ZOOM! schools. Delivered via webinar, these sessions are a great way to see how your school can improve and expand its use of ZOOM!.

Below is the list of sessions through the end of March. To register for any of the sessions, click on the title of the session to be taken to the registration page. If you have problems registering, please email Tristan Clerihew.

February 2012

Creating an Exam--Intermediate
2/23, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
During the ZOOM! Booster Shot "Creating an Exam - Intermediate," the ZOOM! support team will guide you through aligning an exam to standards and clusters, modifying performance bands, and much more. Additionally, we will cover how to create an exam in DataDirector 4.0. This Booster Shot WILL address creating an exam using the item bank.

Professional Learning Communities (PLCs): Creating a Data-Driven School Community
3/6, 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.
The ZOOM! Data Institute "Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)" introduces schools to the steps to begin and sustain a Professional Learning Community (PLC) driven by student achievement data pulled by DataDirector.

Data Resources
3/7, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
To better help charter schools understand their student data and improve their performance, CCSA has created a number of free tools that are available to all charters. The CCSA Performance Institute "Data Resources" will walk participants through several such tools, including the CCSA Snapshots, School Profiler, and interactive tools created with information from the 2012 Portrait of the Movement. (This webinar is a "CCSA Performance Institute." Content will be applicable to all charters and registration will be open to all CCSA schools.)

Programs & Custom Reporting
3/8, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Many schools find Programs & Custom Reporting useful and easy ways to better break down and analyze their data. This ZOOM! Booster Shot will show you how to use DataDirector's Programs feature. Programs can be used to create specific groups of students for your data analysis needs. The second half will look at Custom Reporting, where you will learn how to create reports pulling specific fields of data that your school would like to look at and analyze.

Using Data to Differentiate Instruction
3/13, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
The CCSA Performance Institute "Using Data to Differentiate Instruction" introduces schools to guidance around how to assist teachers in differentiating instruction in their classrooms, track students' progress in meeting grade-level, subject matter, and school-wide learning goals. (This webinar is a "CCSA Performance Institute." Content will be applicable to all charters and registration will be open to all CCSA schools.)

Troubleshooting Your Core Files
3/15, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
During the ZOOM! Booster Shot, "Troubleshooting Your Core Files," the ZOOM! support team will review common issues with core files and how to fix them, as well as answer specific questions pertaining to your school's core files. The session will also include information on how to uploading supplemental information into DataDirector, such as new demographic fields.

Creating & Uploading Supplemental Demographics
3/20, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
Do you find yourself wanting to upload more demographic information into DataDirector beyond what the typical demographics file allows? During this ZOOM! Booster Shot, you'll learn how to create and upload supplemental demographics (such as previous school, whether the student is in foster care, or whether the student receives a free lunch or reduced-price lunch) to better customize DataDirector to fit your school's needs.

ZOOM! and the Primary Grades
3/28, 3:00 - 4:30 p.m.
You've been asking and we've heard you! How do you implement ZOOM! in the primary grades? To better help schools use ZOOM! in the primary grades, the ZOOM! team is offering this Data Institute showing schools how to put ZOOM! to use with their youngest students. This session will feature fellow school leaders sharing best practices from their sites, along with implementation successes and suggestions.
