Great Valley Charter denied authorization at Salvation Army site in Modesto

January 19, 2012 Great Valley Academy was denied in their bid to open a school at the Salvation Army Red Shield Center in Modesto. Salvation Army Captain Martin Ross who runs the Red Shield Center has said that the Bret Harte neighborhood's high poverty and low education rates needs creative solutions such as Great Valley Academy. The school effort will now submit to the Stanislaus County Office of Education which has previously approved the Great Valley Academy on Tully Road. This is the 3rd school Great Valley has developed, with another school in Manteca. To learn more, read the article in the Bee.
