Nov. 17: Teach+ invites you to "A Conversation on Student Growth Measures"

  • Print

November 3, 2011 How has the implementation of student growth measures affected you as a teacher? Can student growth measures be used to enhance your classroom experience and school community? How can district and charter schools use student growth measures to better collaborate?

Join Teach Plus on Thursday, November 17, from 5 - 7:30 pm for an important conversation on the questions surrounding student growth measures with experts Noah Bookman, LAUSD Program and Policy Development Advisor, Dr. Rob Meyer, research professor and Director of the Value-Added Research Center at the University of Wisconsin, and Chris Bertelli, Executive Director at The College-Ready Promise. The use of student growth measures is continuing to gain ground in Los Angeles, with LAUSD's recent release of teacher Academic Growth over Time (AGT) reports, and a large coalition of charter schools continuing to collect teacher data on Student Growth Percentiles (SGP).

Bring your voice to a discussion that will deepen your understanding and allow you to share your concerns on the future use of student growth measures in our schools. Free appetizers and beverages will follow the conversation!
