November 14, 2011 Have you always wanted computers, art supplies, telescopes, or funding for field trips for your students? The Wasserman Foundation has partnered with DonorsChoose.org to help fund up to $4 million in classroom projects in Los Angeles! Post your project ASAP to take advantage of these matching funds.

Thanks to a $4 million donation from the Wasserman Foundation, thousands of Los Angeles classroom projects will be funded over the next two years through DonorsChoose.org. The campaign was publicly launched on Monday, November 14.

How it works

Teachers will post their classroom project needs, the public will donate to these projects, and the Wasserman Foundation will match the donations dollar to dollar. Thus every donation will have double the impact.

All full-time LAUSD and charter school teachers are encouraged to post their classroom needs.

How to Get Started

  1. If you're a new teacher to DonorsChoose.org, you can learn more and sign up at DonorsChooseLA.org. If you have an existing account, log in to get started.

  2. Submit project requests for the materials and experiences your students need to learn. The site will guide you through the process of creating a project. For best chances of funding, submit up to two requests for materials that cost $800 or less. The sooner you submit your projects the better!

3.Once teacher projects are approved, they will be available for parents and the general public to fund at DonorsChooseLA.org!
