Watts Learning Center Featured in CCSA Report on African American Performance In Charters

October 4, 2011 This week, CCSA released a statewide report detailing African American performance and enrollment trends in charter schools, as well as best-practices for effectively teaching African American students. The results are very favorable for charter schools.

The research report found that charter schools are effectively accelerating the performance of African American students. In addition, the report found that charter schools have consistently earned higher African American Academic Performance Index (API) scores and proficiency rates statewide, in many urban districts, including Los Angeles, and across subjects.
