Summit Public Schools Receives Large Grant for Growth in Silicon Valley

September 23, 2011 On September 20 at a celebration marking the opening of two new schools in San Jose, Summit PS: Rainier and Summit PS: Tahoma, the Meg Whitman-Harsh Foundation announced Summit Public Schools as the recipient of a $2.5M grant. The grant is intended to be seed money for Summit to open ten new charters high schools by 2021.

Furthermore, Meg Whitman,on behalf of the foundation, offered an additional $2.5M matching grant if the Silicon Valley community contributes funds.
