September 16, 2011 CCSA is pleased to unveil new and updated Proposition 39 resources, just in time for this year's Prop. 39 application cycle! These resources are meant to make the Prop. 39 application process easier and more effective for our members.

Resources include:

  • A three-part on-line and on-demand training session, recorded with attorneys at Middleton, Young and Minney (MYM) and CCSA, including step by step instructions for completing facilities requests. Schools and charter developers will be able to view the sessions at their own convenience!
  • A revised template Prop. 39 request form for the 2012-2013 facilities cycle, developed by CCSA and MYM.
  • Prop. 39 "Office Hours": LIVE Question and Answer webinar sessions with attorneys from MYM and CCSA on September 27 and October 6 to answer any questions you may have after viewing the on-line and on-demand training session, or as you work on your application. Register Today.
  • A newly updated Media and Community Outreach Tool Kit with background, tips, templates, and more to build community support and effectively reach out to the media around your Prop. 39 application.

Be sure to also view this personal message from CCSA's president and CEO Jed Wallace on these new resources, why Prop. 39 is a top priority for CCSA, and the importance of applying for Prop. 39 facilities now.

Remember, November 1, 2011, is the deadline for new and existing schools to apply for district facilities under Prop. 39 for the 2012-2013 school year. New schools must also submit their charter petitions on or before November 1st to be eligible for district facilities under Prop. 39.

Prop. 39 is the state law that requires school districts to provide "reasonably equivalent" facilities to charter schools.
